International Women’s Day

This month’s International Women’s Day theme is #breakthe bias. Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women’s equality. Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias. As we believe in celebrating women and self-love, we are celebrating women all month round.

We discuss motherhood just in time for Mother’s Day

Motherhood is a beautiful transition for many, it is a time of joy and seeing your little ones grow and develop. As they say our children become who they are due to their parenting. It can also be a complex thing, as some mothers do not always have family or even a spouse to support them during their days off, or days where they need just a break. Combining motherhood and work can be hard at times, you want to follow your dreams and goals although you want to be the best mother that you can be, we know we do. We delve into topic of working mothers; a working mother has been defined as ‘a woman with the ability to combine a career with the added responsibility of raising a child’. Some believe how do mothers make time for their self-care routines and keep up with looking their best. We share our tips on how to keep up on your skincare routine and pampering yourself. It has been reported that self-care is good for our mental health.

We have seen a rise of entrepreneurs more than ever with more female founders and majority tend to be mothers, it has been reported that: ‘Even though women outnumber men in the UK population by circa 900,000, according to official figures only one in five small to medium enterprises is run by a woman.  The Alison Rose review of female entrepreneurship concluded that encouraging more female entrepreneurs could boost the UK economy by £250bn’ . https://blog.hiremyma.com/2021/07/31/hiremymas-top-5-entrepreneurs-who-are-also-mothers/ We discuss why mothers that happen to be entrepreneurs and working mothers why they should take care of theirselves

Tip one: Pick a day for Self-care

We all know how tiring motherhood can be, it feels like we have so many things on the go and taking time out for you is the last priority. You’re thinking about so many things and self-care seems the least important of things. I remember speaking to another mother once and she mentioned she can’t remember the last time she had a ‘proper shower’, yes that is motherhood for you. Having a simple routine makes a world of a difference. Why not pick a day that is just for your self-care.

Choosing a beauty regimen that works for you and hopefully stick to it: in the morning washing your face, cleansing and moisturizing and turn this into a beauty ritual.

Tip Two: Keep your routine simple

As Spring is approaching, what better time to keep your skincare routine simple and extremely minimal. You can try switching your routine to something more simple, a cleanser, SPF and moisturizer will do the trick. Remember to stick it.

Tip Three: Look after yourself

Being a mother it can be hard sometimes to put yourself first, as you’re constantly thinking about your children. Here are ways to start prioritising your healthy; start doing at home workouts, there is a plethora of home workouts you can find on YouTube. Research has proven exercise makes us feel good and most importantly keep you healthy. Endorphins are released when we push our bodies when exercising. Stay on top with the homework outs, it will also help to keep you looking great. You can thank us later! Take a nap, it may sound like not much however taking a nap can help to keep you productive. Make this part of your regular routine. You cannot be your best when you have not had enough rest. Your body and brain will love you for it. Most importantly eat well!
